Martin Electrical Panel Inspections
You may not know it, but experts recommend electrical panel inspections every five to 10 years. On average, an electrical panel only lasts between 25 and 40 years, so that’s not very often, all things considered. However, various situations may call for immediate panel inspections. For example, you need an inspection if you start experiencing multiple tripped breakers with increasing frequency. That can indicate a serious panel malfunction that poses a safety risk.
During an inspection, our electrician will go through an extensive checklist. It begins with looking for physical damage or deterioration of your panel. They’ll inspect the panel’s housing and the condition of its busbars. Then, our electrician will verify that your circuit breakers are adequate for the circuits they protect. They’ll also test the breakers to ensure they’re offering the protection they should. They’ll test the voltage passing through the panel if everything checks out. That can alert them to irregularities elsewhere in your electrical system.
